EcoVenture is being launched this year as Canada's premiere environmental business plan competition. With entrepreneurial teams drawn from the universities and colleges across the country, the competition offers post-secondary students an opportunity to present innovative, environmentally-focused business plans to potential investors. EcoVenture provides a window on Canada's up-and-coming eco-entrepreneurs.

The event is jointly organized by Dalhousie University's Norman Newman Centre for Entrepreneurship and Eco-Efficiency Centre. EcoVenture is made possible through funding by Industry Canada, Natural Resources Canada and Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and the support of private sector partners.

Twelve finalist teams will be invited to Dalhousie University to make their presentations to a panel of judges made up of consultants, venture capitalists and successful entrepreneurs. This year, teams will vie for over $27,000 in cash prizes with $15,000 going to the winning team.
